The Mission of Dive in Well

The global wellness market is now valued at $4.75 Trillion. According to Fast Company, the health and wellness industry witnessed amazing innovations that are spreading the gospel of self-care and affordable health solutions, but more needs to be done to reach broader audiences.

Diversity and inclusion are necessary in wellness to realise this need.

That is why Dive in Well was created. To turn conversation into action in order to create the change this world needs. Today, they are launching a crowdfunding campaign to disrupt the Wellness industry. The fundraising goal is $100,000 and will continue until March 5, 2020. Donours, such as yourself, can donate anywhere from $5 to $5,000 and rewards include branded merchandise, Allyship + Privilege E-books, admission to a dinner, Consulting Call with CEO, Dive in Well workshops, and more.

Dive in Well was founded by energy healer and entrepreneur Maryam Ajayi, known for her deep passion for empowering the disadvantaged, toppling the patriarchy and generally living this world better than she found it. She has had numerous successful partnerships with brands including Nike Women, The Wing, Sad Girls Club, and Lululemon. Dive in Well Board Members include Jesse Israel, CEO & Founder of The Big Quiet, who is featured on Oprah’s 2020 Wellness Tour, global activist Rachel Ricketts and Ellie Burrows Gluck, CEO & Founder of MNDFL Meditation.

In the first 7 months of launching Diversity in Wellness, there have been 4 intimate dinners where over 80 leaders and influencers in the wellness industry, including Lauren Ash, Light Watkins, Sara Clark, and Lily Diamond, gathered to discuss topics such as allyship and privilege and share personal experiences. This series is now so much more—its own company, with the mission of working towards a more inclusive industry.

Cultivating space, community, conversations and change for a more equitable and accessible wellness industry, there is much to come from the success and support of our greater community through their crowdfunding campaign and beyond.

"For white people, the first step is always listening and learning. Find a BIPOC anti-racism educator and enroll in their immersive courses and workshops. This is a mutually beneficial way to support their work and begin the journey towards allyship. Once you fully are able to comprehend your part in the system that is racism, you can learn to navigate your whiteness in the way that causes the least amount of harm possible. Make it an every day practice to consider how you could be leveraging both personal and professional resources to advance the work of and serve BIPOC in the wellness space. Then, go out there and do just that." — Ellie Burrows Gluck

"I often face challenges of being the only one BIPOC in multiple wellness circles and experienced a glass ceiling in these communities. I attended the Dive in Well dinner on reparations at MNDFL BK. During that dinner, people of color and white people were able to come together to have an honest discussion about the need for reparations. Out of the dinner, many meaningful connections were made - for example, MNDFL was able to host and donate space to BIPOC practitioners and entrepreneurs who were in need of a place to gather, celebrate or practice. Being a part of the DIW community continues to hold me accountable my part in making the wellness space more equitable.” — Anthony Demby
